We were very sad to not make the IRI this year. The demand to get into
IRI shows what a great event this has come to be. During the wait we
were able to successfully reconfigured the Crater Cat into a front
shooter. It appeared that all this work was just for the exercise
of doing it until we were accepted to compete at the Cow town ThrowDown
in KC In November. We took a group with a couple of veterans and many
rookies and had a great time, gaining some very valuable driver practice
for the future. The Crater Cat performed very well! Team 1094 would like
to thank team 1730 and all the people who made this offseason event so
much fun.
"Crater Cat"
competes at the St. Louis
& KC Regionals!
The 2009 RCR FRC team competed in both the Kansas City and St.
Louis regional competitions We hope to announce a trip to IRI very
soon....
With 10 working days to go the 2009 build season the Channel Cats robot
dubbed "Crater Cat" is coming together nicely. We have a lot of
finishing touches left to do before the ship date, most of them around
the conveyor for scoring and decoration.
Once again we would like to thank Team 931 from Gateway high school for
inviting us to their lair for a lot of much needed driver practice and
robot testing. Your generosity for all you do in the name of FIRST is
greatly appreciated by Team 1094!
Check out some cat practice video from gateway!
Here We Go Again!

It's not over yet for Hydra!
Team 1094The Channelcats have once again been invited to attend the
Indianapolis Robotics Invitational! We have really enjoyed this off
season event over the last 2 seasons and would like to express a special thanks to the teams who
sponsor it.
Hydra competes at the St. Louis Regional! The 2008 RCR FRC team performed admirably in finishing 9th
overall in the STL Regional. After qualification, the team was selected
by team 494 who placed 3rd overall to compete in the finals. Team 1885
was added to round out the alliance. The alliance fought valiantly
through the quarter finals and won the best of three by winning 2
matches in a row. The alliance was then edged out 2-0 in the semifinals.
They played through the competition with the things that are most
important, they had fun!, they learned a lot!, & they did it all with
gracious professionalism!
But wait...It's not over yet!
The team will be heading to Atlanta to compete in the
Championship Event!
Come check us out if you can or check back here for more information
after!
Introducing the 2008 Channel Cats Robot!
"Hydra"
The Catfish practice with Team 931 at 931's home.
Thanks Team 931
We are very excited to be registered not only for the 2008 St. Louis
Regional Competition but also the 2008 National Competition in Atlanta.
This will be the second trip to Atlanta for the Channel Cats and the
first for many of our team members. Try to Catch the Channel Cats at one
of these awesome events!
The Channel Cats and
the 2007 robot "Nässen Macher" (makers wet) had a GREAT showing
at the St. Louis Regional Competition! We made a lot of new
friends and had a wonderful time. We made it into the Semi
Finals and missed a chance at going to the finals literally by a
thread.
No Matter! We achieved our goals which were to spread the word
of FIRST and have a great time doing it!
Our matching hats, pits and orange enthusiasm earned us the
Imagery award for the second year in a row. The "Catfish Kid"
was present doing all the usual dances with the other mascots.
Our Autodesk animation entry graced the big screen along with
the others.
We would like to thank all the volunteers, judges,
referees, FIRST teams, and all the crazy fans.

January 6th, 2007
Right after the FIRST Kickoff a number of our catfish made their way up
river to ITT Technical Institute in Earth City for a grand tour and the
presentation of a $2,000 check.
Thank you ITT! We enjoyed the tour
and I think we may have opened a few eyes to your exceptional
educational opportunities.
Without your support we couldn't exist!
The 2007 Build Season
The 2007 build season was kicked off for
us at the FIRST gathering at the
St. Louis Science Center on January 6th. Our busy schedule includes
every day but Sunday. Come and check us out!
January 4th, 2007
Our weekly meeting at 7pm on January 4th will be a reception, as we've
had a number of new members joining the RCR organization. Our goal is
to introduce our new members and their families to the exciting world of
Robotics at RCR. We will a have season overview that will go through
"what to expect" in the upcoming season and competition(s). We will also
touch on fundraising, our sponsors, FIRST awards (ones we have & ones we
want), opportunities for volunteer help, and all the wonderful
opportunities FIRST and RCR are offering area hi-tech kids. All the new
members and their families are encouraged to join us at
RCR headquaters.
November 28, 2006
The 2006 RCR robot, Hunter, and the 2005, Lone Lemming, made their
appearance at the
St. Peters Comedy Forum last Thursday. The benefit was put on by
Bill Davis and his comedian friends. The benefit was a great success
that we hope to duplicate in years to come. Many thanks to Bill and the
Comedy Forum for doing this for us. Without support like this we could
grow within our organization goals!
