Mission
Statement: River City Robots' mission is
to expose St. Charles County students to engineering through
collaboration with business professionals in the FIRST
Foundation robotic competitions and related activities.
RCR's Official Competition Season Closes
on a High Note
For the second year in a row we have been able to compete in both the
Kansas City and St Louis competitions and have made it to the
quarterfinals. Once again our robot performed well relative to the field
of robots and our students got a lot of practice working together to
operate, maintain and repair the robot
(that was all part of the plan).
What thrilled us the most was our team's winning of the
Engineering Excellence Award
(And getting our picture with Dean!).
It shows how we proceeded from our overall system requirements to the
resulting design through some mind mending thinking, detailed
observation of our experimental system, some skilled craftsmanship and
excellent cooperation between the team members as well as some
knowledgeable communication between the students and the judges.
That is
what makes us all winners.

We would also like to thank Team 1985 for recognizing our pit!
You guys always have the COOLEST awards to give out!
The Chum Chucker had a GREAT outing at the Kansas City Regional
finishing 6th of 60 teams in the qualifying matches. The Channel Cats
Team hopes to better that at the St. Louis regional this weekend!
is shaping up nicely. We are wrapping up the final details here in the
last week of build season. Some initial testing at Gateway's robotics
lab was helpful in determining where we needed some improvements. Thanks
again (3 years running) to team 931 for graciously offering their full
field for us to use.
Keep up with all the action on our
YouTube and
Webshots
sites.
River City Robots is proud to announce the start of our 9th Season. As
many` seniors have moved on to start their technology based futures in
college we have a sizable group of new recruits for the 2010 season.
What an exciting off-season for FIRST in St. Louis!!!
Team 1094 joined several other local teams at the St. Louis Science
Center's International Science Fair SciFest09 where Dean Kamen was a guest
Speaker. We were among the first to hear the FIRST Robotics Championship
competition was coming to HERE for the 2011, 2012, and 2013 seasons.
Hats off to the St. Louisans who were able to convince the FIRST
organization that St. Louis is not only the Gateway to the West but also
the Gateway to the Future!
